What does allegiance to God pay
And is the Lord so very strict
And is the Sabbath just a day
That God imposes to afflict?

God wields no persecuting hand
His subjects all must needs be free
The faith of God is such a brand
That every creature must be free.

Who will you own? Will you be true?
Will you be Cain and offer fruit?
Though contradictory the view
The Lamb or Christ you execute

Yea, Satan is a liar, cheat
Whatever he brings is not his own
That rebels heart of unbelief
No good for you has ever shown

His offering was but a sham
He but took life, God did create
The bleeding sacrificial lamb
Was but the symbol of his hate.
